Timiş county architecture,
a stroll through the borough: up to the hill houses or down to the
homes lined on the flat horizons.
Each building has its story. The Bastion's plaster, battered by time on each
of the three hundred sixty-five times a year, still stands guard so that
architectural history doesn't run away from the walls of the old borough.
No wonder why people of Timiş county see the Unification Square “Piaţa
Unirii” as an „open air museum”.
Right here, the eye tends to believe that all tiles have the same pavement
but, in fact, the square caches a secret that your steps will definitely
uncover. As you look down when stepping on a tile that seems to be out of
shape, you will realize that you are standing right on the „Ground 0" of the
county's capital. This is how we call the engraved stone with the map of
the old borough. Just like being in a puzzle of baroque architecture where,
by stepping on one tile at a time and overpassing every pigeon, you've
finally reached the LANDMARK of the historical roots of Timiş county.
