TIMIȘ COUNTY DEVELOPMENT VISION
According to the vision of the Timiș County Development Strategy 2021-2027, in 2027 Timiș County will
represent a model of smart specialisation in the European economy, based on a diverse and civically
engaged community, an efficient public administration that formulates public policies and makes data-
driven decisions, and a modern system of public services and utilities that equitably serves the territory and
ensures a quality of housing at European standards.
Timiș county is:
THE SECOND INVESTMENT, SMART SPECIALISATION AND KNOWLEDGE HUB

hub in Romania, after Bucharest, a major TRANSPORT HUB and European level

lifestyle development of both urban and rural environments.
One of the MAIN TOURISTIC DESTINATIONS recognised both at national and at
European level, making sustainable use of the title of EUROPEAN CAPITAL OF

CULTURE 2023 and relying on cultural diversity, heritage and natural
surroundings.
