Starting from people and the objects crafted by them,
one can learn the story of their community.

It stands written in customs, traditions and its voice can be heard
through traditional art objects.

As soon as you get over the threshold of a Banat house, you are
welcomed by the saying: „Each house has its own custom and each
village has its own shinning”. But in each and every house one shall find the
dowry chest with various pieces of traditional costumes, getting their head
out of the dust of time they've been covered with.

The women in Banat families have turned the needle into a paint brush,
the threads into watercolors and this can be seen on the cloth. Tailored
and adorned with traceries embroidered using chosen techniques, the
homespun skirts called “cotrânțe”, girdles, traditional headwear items
called “cepse”, woven bed covers called “cilimuri” and wool tissues
called “ponievi” are the main LANDMARKs of the socioeconomic status
and they are lifelong companions of the locals throughout the most
important events of their lives, as symbol bearers.
